Alex Lees is the Founder of Tale Production, a video production company focused on helping manufacturing, education, and research organisations communicate complex ideas clearly. With a background in engineering, Alex brings a structured, problem-solving mindset to creative work, blending technical understanding with visual storytelling.
Over the last decade, he has worked closely with universities, large organisations, and innovation teams to turn research, strategy, and change initiatives into engaging video content that people actually watch and understand.

Alex’s background in engineering, combined with over a decade running a creative business, allows him to approach video projects differently from traditional production companies.
He focuses on breaking down complex subjects such as manufacturing, FMCG, engineering, innovation, and research, and communicating them in a way that is clear, engaging, and useful for the intended audience.
Alex designed and led a structured video production system that enabled the creation of over 200 Entrepreneurial Impact Challenge (EIC) pitch videos with a near 100% success rate. This approach focused on repeatable processes, clear story frameworks, and efficient filming workflows, allowing large numbers of founders and research teams to communicate their ideas consistently and confidently.
Alex applies creativity beyond client projects by building educational and professional content platforms. He launched the YouTube channel My Uni-verse to support young people considering higher education, using video storytelling to make university life and career paths more accessible, using his own personal experience, too. He has also created multiple video series aimed at helping professionals learn from real-world experience.
Alex regularly explores new ways of using video to solve communication challenges, from drone filming in industrial and manufacturing environments to interactive and digital-first formats for education and internal communications. His work focuses on applying emerging production methods to real-world problems rather than using technology for novelty alone.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys competing in Hyrox events, playing tennis, learning the piano, and training his rescue dog, Gus.
